How often have you pulled up your traffic stats only to be greeted by dismal numbers?
Traffic is the heart of your online business. And whether you’re running a simple, personal blog or you’ve got a full-scale eCommerce site with shopping integration you can’t expect to make any money online without having a regular stream of traffic hitting your pages.
There are numerous ways to get traffic coasting into your site, even surging into your site. I’ll feature my favorite methods here that routinely work for me.
Facebook Groups:
Consider the fact that Facebook has millions of users and you know that some of your target market is hiding in their somewhere. Team up and connect with people through Facebook that are interested in your niche. Share content, engage them, start a dialogue. The more people you connect with the more word will spread about your brand.
Forums:
I love forums simply because of how open they are. Most forums are typically centered around a topic or a handful of topics. Because of this, they can be a great way to bring targeted traffic to your website. Just remember to avoid embarrassing or unprofessional discussions. Establish yourself as a regular and develop trust with other regulars before attempting anything that even remotely looks like self promotion.
Article Distribution:
This goes well beyond just dropping an article or two into Ezinearticles or just a few other article directories. When you submit articles to thousands of directories you can get your content listed quickly all over the web. This creates a mass potential for a lot of traffic funneling back to your website and you’re building backlinks in the process.
Branding Offline:
This is a fun way to fuel interest in your brand and get some buzz going. Try making gear that people can wear such as hars, tshirts and other items that have your logo or catchphrase within the item. Do some other branding with mugs, pens and even notebooks that you can give away to people. The more your logo is out there and people see your name the more likely it is that you’ll gain visibility and traffic
Sponsorship:
It might sound expensive, but it’s really not. You don’t have to fund a baseball team to sponsor some events and get visibility. Most businesses can find local sponsorship opportunities that won’t cost much investment wise and you’re able to get your company information out into the eyes of the local community.
Quality Content:
It stands to reason that if you want more traffic you have to give people a reason to come to your site. Quality content that provides a lot of value and/or entertainment is obviously the best way to not only get people to your site but to keep them there and get them to tell others about what they found. It doesn’t need to be written content, either. Adventure into the realm of audio and video and watch how people respond to your content marketing efforts.
