Mobile Marketing – Stagnant Tactics Won’t Go

The internet is an incredible source of new media and marketing ideas. The goal is of course to generate as much traffic as possible to generate the most conversions. With mobile marketing technology evolving just as fast as new marketing ideas are being implemented, there are numerous opportunities to create your own niche in the market.

Our new mobile phones with their wireless connections and fast download speeds represent a relatively untapped wealth of customers begging to receive your advertisements. Attracting the attention of the average mobile phone user is not as easy as it may at first appear, however. For the most part, they are busy individuals who don’t have time to stop for a phone call, let alone a commercial.

Your message must be quick and exciting, and appeal to what the receiver really needs.

Quick doesn’t mean using a bunch of abbreviations. Nothing says unprofessional like, “C U L8r” If you want to be taken seriously as a business, you have to use understandable English that leaves no room for misinterpretation.

Your marketing texts must also contain extremely clear calls to action. It is all too easy for a person to misunderstand the written word, and leave you hanging with nothing. It is a phenomenon that none of us really gets, but so many people just seem to get lost in internet (and mobile), advertising, so it has to be clear enough for a child to understand.

It is probably a good idea before you start your campaign to study some of the other mobile ads out there to get an idea of what you will be facing in the way of competition, and how you can improve on their models to create better business for yourself.

As you make headway into your campaign, create a database of all of the offers and the individuals who replied to them. This will be an invaluable source of marketing intelligence that will show you all kinds of emerging patterns and trends that you will be able to take advantage of once the proper amount of time is given to do the research properly. You can group your data anyway you see fit, to categorize your customers into the niches that will best reflect how they will react to your ads.

The ultimate goal should be that you only directly advertise to the people who are going to take the offers you send them. You will know what the people want before they do, if your research is sound, and be able to offer it to them at a competitive price.

The mobile marketing strategies we talked about here are far from the be all and end all. The real fact is that we are all still learning a little bit, but a person with a strong advertising background should be able to understand the best ways to appeal to people.

It is just a matter of learning the best ways to apply our new tools.
